A Delectable Guide .Spider Magazine reviews the recently launched website of Food Connection Pakistan.
First of all, the marketing team of Food Connection Pakistan must be commended for making full use of social media. The company had a full-fledged Facebook page, a twitter account and a tube channel, prior to the website launch. In fact, its facebook page even hosted a countdown prior to the launch!
The homepage of Fc Pakistan‘s website has the necessary ingredients : it features “hot deals” from restaurants , blog eateries , latest reviews , discount vouchers , and the option to search for restaurants. The design elements are pleasantly subtle and do not interfere with the website’s objective – to find an eatery that suits your appetite, mood and budget.
Features :
The Search feature allows you to filter your query via parameters such as food genre, food item and location; however , it does not explicitly state so . Save the location, there are no dropdown menus to choose from, nor a simple tip to guide users on how to narrow down their searches . Restaurants are listed in random order; however, information within each restaurant “box” is compact yet complete. The use of symbols to depict whether the eatery is air-conditioned, baby friendly, has Wi-Fi connection, is simple , yet creative . Another interesting feature is the Map view, to indicate the locations and route to restaurant. An upcoming feature is the Photolicious section – A food photography competition expected to roll out this month.
Two words that best describe the content – minimalist and attractive. However , considering the fact that for most consumers , restaurants reviews play a significant role in choosing an eatery , FC Pakistan fails to pack a punch . The blog section, on the other hand, has some pretty engaging content written by ardent food lovers. Perhaps FC Pakistan should invest in seasoned yet unbiased food writers to make the most of this section.
Nitty Gritties
The website loaded smoothly on all major browsers, had virtually no broken links , and was easy to navigate . However, we felt that an FAQ page should have been included . There are a typos in the content as well; though trivial , they slightly dampen the overall experiences . Overall , FC Pakistan is a promising entry on the Web . It has the potential of becoming the ultimate local food guide, provided it works out the kinks.
