Halwa Puri Breakfast at Boat Basin by Sadaf Farooqui
Boat Basin has always been famous for the traditional halwa puri breakfast it offers on weekend mornings. Numerous eateries along the line that offer barbeque by night, open their doors early in the mornings on Saturdays and Sundays to offer rich but delicious delcacies to their customers. Reportedly, the workers are up since 5 a.m to whisk up the breakfast items. As we reached we sawschool students and families were in abundance, especially groups of young teenaged lads. As we were striving for food, we orderedParatha, aloo bhaji and sooji (semolina) halwa.
Obviously this kind of eating out is not for high-maintenance germophobes who can't 'get down and dirty' to rough it once in a while. Other than that we also orderedOmelette and puri's along with Health-conscious salad-leaf nibblers. And last but not the least hot doodh patti to sum it up (strong, sweet tea brewed in milk)
Verdict: A very nice, comfortable place to have food with the breeze giving a nice touch to it.
Please note: The prices of above eatables may fluctuate.
