Cafe 9 - A place for people with taste! Featured Review by Bilal Khan
Zamzama, an already overcrowded food street accompanying all the famous eateries out there but for some reason was unable to shed light on perhaps one of the most admired and overwhelming café by the name of Café 9 that has been comfortably tucked away on the 9th Zamzama Commercial Lane, Phase 5.
It has been five years since this fine-dine café has been on the map of Karachi and through time, this recently altered café is beginning to make sense of what had been missing out from this wondrous and exciting atmosphere. The décor and the entire theme of this café is absolutely idyllic and much welcoming for everyone, as the color combination matches with the entire seating arrangements and perfect lighting effects. The café is based on two floors, ground floor and 1st floor having enough room to accommodate up to 60-65 guests which itself is a great achievement. As per its name it sounds like an everyday café that offers the same, regular menu, but Café 9 has taken a leap forward by modifying all the departments and offers mouth-watering cuisines like Italian, Moroccan, Seafood, and Mexican etc. It hasn’t lost its charm on being a properly refined café by importing delicious syrups and coffee beans as they yearn to serve a wide range of coffee’s to its valued customers. With classic music being played at the back, well mannered staff, a small bakery section of homemade goodies and tasty treats and a bar in a corner, this café is a complete package to enjoy a good meal at a relaxing, friendly environment.
Mr. Ajay (General Manager of Café 9) has been in the food industry for the past 15 years and has worked in multiple restaurants and eateries. As he is much conscious in developing a certain taste of food that rocks the taste buds of his guests, which is probably the reason this café serves delectable cuisines.Amongst the very favorites served here are steaks, lobsters, prawns and coffee.
Eager to have a taste of what this amazing café is all about; a few signature dishes were served along with starters like a Mint Cooler (priced at Rs. 125 exclusive of tax) that did a perfect job in refreshing our minds.
Along with hot-friedPerry bites served with garlic mayo sauce (priced at Rs. 225 exclusive of tax) that wasn’t too spicy but right up to its mark.
Artichoke with spinach dip (priced at Rs. 350 exclusive of tax) which was also palatable.
From the main course section,Moroccan Chicken served with rice arrived steamy hot (priced at Rs. 650 exclusive of tax). The very first bite of the hot, juicy chicken along with the correct combination of rice showed a clearer picture and taste of an authentic Moroccan cuisine.
And another specialty calledChefs Special steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables (priced at Rs. 675 exclusive of tax) also became the center of attention. Every mouthful felt simply flavorsome and pure.
Then came the turn of one the most delightful and jaw-dropping desserts named sizzled-dizzled (priced Rs. 295 exclusive of tax) came piping hot with a combination of abrownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream was just a mood enhancer nonetheless at any given time. You can rely on the chocolate to ooze out as soon as you dig into it.
And ahomemade toffee cream cake (priced at Rs. 250 exclusive of tax) tasted auspiciously astounding as well.
If this wasn’t enough, Café 9 is slowly in the process of tweaking up its menu with a large variety of cuisines, desserts and especially coffee’s and by the taste of these astonishing meals, we can be pretty much certain that their maturity in flavors and a perfect selection of the finest ingredients will simply create a landmark. Live screening of sports matches and booking of an exhibition, fashion show or a rave party can also be done. Delivery and takeaway at nearby locations is also good news for all the foodies out there.
Planning to open another outlet of Café 9 in Karachi in a few months time is persuadably just what i
