There has been a big change in eating out habits in Islamabad. There were not many eateries other than Pappasalis, Dainty’s Burger and a distant McDonalds in Rawalpindi up until 6 to 7 years after the Millennium. Islamabad is a city of Diplomats and political dignitaries and a lot of foreigners land in Islamabad, so it should be considered important to have a good number of dining-out places around. Some very smart people saw this requirement in Islamabad and now the entire eating-out trend has been restructured.
The Monal Tree House at Pirsohawa is one place that must be visited if in Islamabad. It flaunts a beautiful ambience once inside the premise and then the view of Islamabad from the top is breath-taking. The Monal Tree House serves French, Italian and Mediterranean and has come to gain a lot of popularity.
The existence of Saidpur Village is one of the best features of Islamabad. It is THE food street with a beautiful view and then area is an embodiment of historic architecture. There are many restaurants there such as Des Pardes, Polo Lounge, Chatkhara Lounge, La Montana etc. This is a very good project carried out by the CDA (Capital Development Authority) to beautify the capital city of Pakistan.
In Shakarparian there is one restaurant “1969” which was launched in the year 2008 which is a wonderfully themed restaurant from the 60s era. The cuisine served at the restaurant is mostly Pakistani and Continental and is prepared so that one visit doesn’t count as enough for diners. A thematic eatery in Islamabad also comes in another name “Cave Diner”. Cave Diner is known for its underground dimly lit set up. The place is known for its steaks and assorted mock tails served at the Bon Cave aria.
Kim Mun Chinese Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Islamabad and well known for its Schezuan Cuisine and Dumplings situated in the happening Jinnah Super Market. Another place for dining out which has been around in Islamabad for a while in F-7 Markaz is “KC Grill”. It is a family restaurant and is known to serve the best steaks and Pakistani food.
The above restaurants are some places that have been highlighted to ensure a good dine out. But Islamabad has transformed and still has space for new dinner and lunch places.
